He came out today to help us diagnose a pump issue and ended up doing a really comprehensive service visit — thorough salt cell cleaning, backwashing, filter check, the works. He clearly knows his stuff. What stood out most was how willing he was to teach. I’m working on learning to handle pool maintenance myself, and Cody patiently answered every question I had and explained each step along the way. That kind of customer service is rare and genuinely appreciated. Family Pool and Spa has been taking care of us for years, and experiences like this are exactly why. Highly recommend — ask for Cody!

We purchased a new tub from FPS, and were having a few teething problems with the controls. Called for help about 10AM. Amazing to say, Brandon arrived just before noon, same day. Brandon is courteous, knowledgable with a very smooth and patient presentation. He walked us through our issues with a confident ease, obviously comfortable with his product. Jake from Family Pool & Spa came out today to change the medium in our sand filter. He did a great job, kept his work area neat and tidy, and cleaned up the area around the pool equipment before he left. Equipment is running great. Also, this company provides the best weekly pool service. Our yard boarders a large pond with lots of trees and the company has kept or pool chemistry perfect!! Highly recommend!

I don’t like to give bad reviews, but my experience was very bad. They sold us a hot tub where the aerator controls came off in your hand and eight jets wouldn’t come on or off. You couldn’t turn them with a channel lock. They said they would bring us another one and we went to look at it and they tried to pawn off a demo tub with faded headrest and also several jets that wouldn’t run. The only way they would sell us a tub that actually worked is if we paid $1000 more. When I look at the tub up that they were trying to trade us the average price was less than the one I’d already paid for. They told me they wouldn’t stay in business if they sold tubs that cheap. I say they won’t stay in business if they keep selling faulty tubs.

We are in the process of looking for a new spa for our home and met with Brandon at Family Pool & Spa - Brandon was exceptionally helpful as we were very interested in the Vita Joli hot tub. He answered our every question as well as opening up the tub skirt so we could see the insulation, pumps and plumbing - he even offered to let us do a wet test in a similar Vita Spa. Brandon and Family Pool & Spa are definitely one of the best places to go when looking for a hot tub/spa and Vita makes a great product.

We had Hot Tub service for 3 years. The service folks were very through, polite and very professional. The service at the retail location was also polite and professional. We chose to replace our hot tube by expanding our back deck, otherwise we would have continued our service.

Family Pool & Spa is our go to for all of our pool and spa needs. They are knowledgeable on water chemistry and have done a great job with our pump replacement and installation of a great gas heater for our pool. At 400,000 BTU, it raises the pool (20,000 gal) temperature 2° per hour.

I bought a Marquis hot tub from Mike about 12 years ago. I have had over 20 years experience with Marquis tubs and I know they are the very best that can be purchased. Mike has taken care of all my needs and they have been very few other than filters and some chemicals. The Marquis tub is by far the best investment you can make in hydrotherapy. I use it everyday on my arthritic body and it makes me feel great. I highly recommend these people if you are serious about purchasing a hot tub. Update, the valve that controls one side of the tubs jets broke and even though Family Pool is not a Marquis dealer they got me a replacement valve so I could repair it myself. Great people 👍

As new pool owners, we’re so grateful for Family Pool and Spa! They’ve been incredibly patient with all our questions and consistently go above and beyond to help. When our Pentair pool cleaner stopped working, we were worried we'd have to replace it after less than three years. Brandon came to the rescue as he diagnosed the issue, cleaned the clogged parts, and got it running again, all at no charge. What a great experience and such a pleasant surprise!

I met Mike at Family Pool & Spas last August and within 30 minutes of talking with him, I knew not to look anywhere else for my spa purchase! Mike took the time to explain in great detail the inner workings of the VitaSpa, the benefit of not using spray foam encapsulation, the removable interior thermal blanket, quality of construction, and common replaceable parts if needed. The in-store staff, (Mark & Brandon) are equally as helpful, always willing to answer my question's and provide great advice on maintaining disinfectant and balance of water chemistry. The ability to bring in a sample of my Spa water for in store testing is a real bonus! Our Spa is gorgeous and works perfectly! If you are looking to purchase a Spa, I would look no further than Family Pool & Spa! (I would give them six stars if I could!)

The Family Pool & Spa staff is always so nice and informative every time I visit or call. Ran in tonight and Mark helped me by testing my water then made recommendations on what I should do. Family Pool & Spa are the absolute best! I’ve had a couple of emergency issues with my built in spa, and they have gone out of their way to repair it. Most recently was a leak in my filter, which was draining my spa. It was 2 days before Christmas, and Randal, who is awesome, came by and repaired it on his way home. Now that is what I call the most amazing customer service. Thank you Randal, and thank you Family pool & Spa!

Look no further. This business is top notch. Whether you're in the store, on the phone or someone at your house they are super professional and extremely knowledgeable. They even will text with you to get photos to help order parts or trouble shoot. Pool pump broke and they were literally out the next day to fix it. There service and maintenance value is 100% worth the cost.

Happy with our spa but overall unhappy with an issue we had regarding our spa topper and the non-responses received once the problem arose. Early 2022 a windstorm had blown our topper back and the cheap easy lift frame snapped. I called to ask if there was any sort of warranty, they told me "No, but you can buy another". I purchased the same topper from them and realized once I took the old broken frame off, that it was installed incorrectly. The frame had snapped because the brackets were installed against the edge of the tub, and there wasn't enough overlap of the frame tubes (strengthening the frame). I shifted the brackets over per the manufacturers guideline and wow, it's not so flimsy when installed correctly. I now have holes in the panel where they had incorrectly installed the brackets. I went in to ask about the issue and if there was anything to be done. They told me the owner wasn't around, and to call back. I called 3 times, left messages, never received another response from a manager, or the owner.

First visit. Was greeted warmly and friendly. Was given objective advice, even when it meant he didn't get a sale for one of the items. Looking forward to having them as our trusted neighborhood pool outfitter. UPDATE: It has been several years of reliable service for chemicals, products, and winterizing. Just picked up some miscellaneous items and the level of care, good explanations, and genuine friendliness was outstanding.

It is with great enthusiasm that I give Family Pool and Spa an A+! They provided us with an exceptionally high level of service as we endeavored to fix an older, used hot tub that we had recently acquired. The onsite technician was very friendly, very professional, and very knowledgeable. Several parts had to be ordered, some of which were no longer in production, and the process was seamless. All of this at the peak of the holiday season! We are grateful to Mike and to the entire staff!
These guys were very nice to work with. We didn't buy our hot tub from them, but they spent a great deal of time teaching me about the chemicals that I needed to get the tub and and going. They had everything we needed in stock too! I even called back the next day because I couldn't remember what they told me and got to talk to the same person that had helped me. I'll keep buying my supplies here!

I was having trouble with my spa and contacted the the sales people I had bought the spa from, I was told that they didn't cover that spa anymore and was given the name of Family Pool and Spa to help me. Randal came out and found the problem, he contacted the manufacture and was able to get them to cover it under the warranty. We worked ibn this problem for three plus months to get the parts. Staying in contact was great. If I didn't call him, he would call me during that long parts wait time. All the employees have been great in answering my questions and relaying on messages. I have been a customer for four years. Last Thursday I endured several minutes of severe verbal abuse from Mike while trying to return a defective item. I will never go back to this business or suggest it to anyone else in the future.

Extremely happy with the guys down at Family Pool & Spa. Great prices and very knowledgeable staff. Our pool was very unbalanced and had a bad green tint. They were helpful with free testing and guiding me with the correct chemicals and the right amount to get the water balanced and remove the green tint. Highly recommend at least stopping by and talking to them!

Best in Boise Randall and Mike are the owners, you get to talk with people with years of experience. I had been to a number of places and loved the recycled plastic jugs of acid that you can buy. Randall runs the maintainence side and he has years of experience. He helped us with raising the acid level before we opened the pool this year and the surface is like a baby's butt now. Go to them for spa and pool questions, no questions to big or small.

We absolutely LOVE our hot tub. We shopped the whole valley looking for the perfect tub. Every single store. Then we met Mike at Family Pool and Spa and we knew we had found the perfect tub. Not the most expensive tub in town, not the cheapest tub in town. Right in the middle and we got EVERYTHING we were looking for. The service is outstanding. The folks at Family Pool and Spa are kind of like family to us now. They help us keep our hot tub waters perfectly balanced. It's always a pleasure to pop in and say hello. We have had so many friends who have "other hot tubs" tell us that we did everything right when we chose ours. It's perfect for the two of us. It's perfect when grand kids come to visit. And it's perfect when friends come to hang out. If you are thinking about purchasing a hot tub, go over and talk to Mike. You won't be sorry!

First off, we want to let you know how much we love our hot tub! We figured we'd like it, but it really is a treat! Like having a vacation in your backyard. I have had the great pleasure of getting to know Randal with the many problems i have had with my 3 year old Maxx spa!! He is my HERO! They did not sell me the tub...Leasure Time did, and they are CROOKS!! Leasure Time told me there was only a 2 year warranty on my heater!!! Which was a TOTAL LIE!! Flash forward 4 months later and Randal totally fixed my spa....in warranty!!! Don't go anywhere else!!! They are the BEST!!! Thank you Randal you really are my HERO!!!!
Mike is the GREATEST! As a newbie pool owner, Mike was very gentle and patient with my fundamental questions. All last summer, Mike offered excellent advise as I tried to learn how to manage the pool chemistry. He never tried to push his products (which are far better than the big box stores), but he always explained what was happening in the pool so that I could be a part of the solution rather than the problem. He's earned this loyal customer!

Great products and prices. They also offer free water testing. Conveniently located and a great business for the treasure valley. Will come here for my future pool needs.

Came into the store to get an estimate for an inground pool to be installed and there was an older woman at the front desk who just sat there and didn't even acknowledge us when we came in. We made eye contact and even said hello. She never got up from her desk or even said, "someone will be with you shortly." Terrible customer service. How do you not acknowledge customers when they come into your business? Your loss. We took our business to another pool installer who appreciates their customers and their business, and actually gets up and acknowledges them when they walk through the front door. If you can't even acknowledge people when they walk through your door, it kind of makes you wonder what kind of service (or lack therof) they provide when installing a pool...definitely would NOT recommend.

I have loved my new swim spa and have to say it was well worth the investment. I used to pay twice the money to operate my pool than I do now thanks to Family Pool & Spa. Mike "aka the Pool Doctor" and his staff have an approach to water chemistry as a best practice for pool care. This is really important to me to take the best care of my vinyl, salt water, and solar heated pool. It’s a big investment and I needed a "partner" to help me get the most enjoyment out of my pool. There is the big value: a relationship to help you partner in keeping a happy healthy pool. They are not there to just sell you products they really are subject matter experts. They educate, coach, and have the products & services I need. Just grab a water sample and take it to their store. See for yourself.

These guys are awesome! They answer the phone consistently so there is no dreaded feeling of getting the voicemail every time, and if they can't answer, they call back promptly! These guys are really Great. I take water samples in often and they always take the time to help me get my pool and spa figured out. I use them to maintain my spa now 100%- they come every 2 weeks and balance, clean etc.
Purchased our tub 7 months ago and am proud to say that Mike and his crew are amazing at what they do!! Recommend them to everyone I know whether it's your first time owning a spa and looking for a quality product made in America and second to none service to follow it up. Mike and Randal go above and beyond the norm of service. We shopped all around the valley for a hot tub and picked Family Pool and Spa because we liked their attitudes, knowledge, price and quick install schedule. They stayed in touch with us after they installed our hot tub and even came back during freezing temps a couple weeks later to help us drain and refill the tub after our first (failed) attempt at maintaining it. We take water samples in regularly now and they test them electronically for free, then give us knowledgeable advice on any changes we should make. I will continue to use their service and buy products from them. The experienced electrician they recommended got us right in as well and did a professional job. Our house has a unique layout and an abnormal power panel and he knew exactly how to make it all work.
Our hot tub recently stopped working and Family Pool & Spa came out to recommend what it needed. Since it wasn't running and below freezing they brought a heater out to help the motor area thaw and ordered the part. They came and replaced the part and it was great...then because of the age of our hot tub, there were some issues with the heat sensor. They ordered another part to work with the initial part and fixed the issue at no charge even though it was our hot tub that was the issue due to age. They are SO helpful at the house and over the phone and I would only ever use them for any hot tub or pool needs. A genuine family business with amazing values.
The folks at Family Pool & Spa are simply great when it comes to customer service,couple that with an an outstanding L.A.Spa and there you have it. My wife and I looked at many brands of spas exstensively and found that we kept going back to the L.A.Spa product line.The useage of our spa being mostly a medical factor for myself,as I have permanent damage in my back and neck,is the big reason we went with them.It is an investment that keeps me away from pain meds.as I am in our spa once for certain,if not twice a day. Mike & Manny gave us what we consider a great deal on an excellent product and the service beyond has been great too! My wife and would reccomend only Family Pool and Spa in Idaho. Thanks guys!
I bought an LA Spa at the Western Idaho Fair this summer. I was contacted by Mike, the owner of Family Pool & Spa and was told he is the local dealer and would inform me when the spa arrived and would schedule a delivery. Once the spa arrived and the delivery scheduled, Mike and his crew arrived on schedule at my home and had the spa up and running in short order. However a the next day I noticed a leak on the patio from the tub. I informed Mike and he and his brother Randal came right over and attempted to fix the leak. After two separate attempts, Mike called the LA Spa regional rep in Seattle. Mike said that it was extremely rare to have an LA Spa leak but that he would have the factory in Chandler, AZ build an exact replacement on a RUSH order. Again, when the tub arrived in Boise, Mike and his crew removed the original tub and installed the replacement. All is well and the tube works perfectly and has no leaks. It even has the latest topside digital screen control. My hat of to Mike and Family Pool and Spa for excellent, prompt and professional sales and service. A big THANK YOU!!
Our experience with Family Pool and Spa has been and continues to be fantastic. Mike and his team, have provided fantastic support to us from when we bought our tub with them to helping us maintain our tub and water quality after. When buying the tub, Mike and his store relieved us with their no pressure, no haggle, sales practice. Mike has many years experience as a spa and pool tech and has worked multiple years for various notable spa companies, so it was became quickly evident after speaking with him that he really knows the technology and business. He could mention notable differences between all notable hot tub brands out there. Other local spa stores we stopped at quoted us a higher retail price in person but when we left, offered us discount incentives after to lure us back in. This was not the case with Family Pool and Spa, they cut out the haggle and offered us their best competitive pricing for each model. In addition to working with us on the install, Family Pool and Spa has been extremely responsive with any followup help we have needed. I have contacted them multiple times to learn more about which chemicals to add when. Also, they will test your water sample for free and tell you exactly how to resolve any water chemistry issues. They genuinely want their customers to have a complete positive experience, even after a sale. My wife and I are new to the area and so relieved that we chose Family Pool and Spa for our hot tub purchase.
I wish I could give Family Pool and Spa 10 stars! They are THE BEST. We recently bought a home and knew the first thing we wanted to take care of was the purchasing of a Hot Tub. We had both grown up with hot tubs and had seen family members go through different experiences as they purchased their tubs. That said, our expectations were high and Mike at Family Pool and Spa exceeded every single one of them. They care about us just as much now ( 5 months after the purchase) as they did the day we walked into their store. Mike has gone out of his way to teach me to care for our pool correctly and calls me periodically to check in. He remembers my name and treats me with respect every time we have a question. Every part of our experience from choosing the tub, waiting for it to arrive ( which happened quickly), the installation, and the up-keep have gone better than we ever imagined and I would HIGHLY recommend Family Pool and Spa to anyone seeking a pool or Hot tub for their family. These guys do things the right way and care about their customers.

I saw the signs on the street and when it was time to get more supplies for my hot tub, I stopped in. Mike was awesome! So refreshing to work with someone that knows what they're talking about! I didn't know anything about spa chemicals when I arrived and I felt like an expert when I left. he tested my water and educated me on the process. I highly recommend this company to everyone!!
Top Notch! I knew nothing about having a pool when I moved in my house. However, I knew I wanted to maintain the pool myself instead of paying someone to do it. Mike has helped me through all sorts of questions/problems. He is so helpful, knowledgeable and polite. Never pushy on buying supplies that I don’t need. He is a true professional! I will continue to drive past a couple other pool supply stores to go to Family Pool & Spa!
